The Tailor and the Prince
Once there lived a tailor in a small hut in the middle of a vast field of lilies. People from all over the kingdom came to the tailor - for his work was so marvelous that clothes made or repaired by him never tore and never wore out.
One day a curious prince came to the tailor and asked him to repair a royal cloak that had been ripped after catching on a branch. The tailor agreed and the prince cautioned him to use only the finest thread or else it would tear the prince's delicate skin.
That night, the prince crept to the tailor's window to see him at work. The tailor was sitting on a stool and singing a song in a low voice. Thin golden threads danced out from the field of flowers and settled around a spool that the tailor was using to mend the cloak. The prince watched, entranced, until the tailor finished his work and turned off the light.
The next morning, the prince came and collected his cloak. The workmanship was exquisite and the cloak now a true wonder. The courtiers all oo'hd and aa'hd. When the prince stepped into the sunlight, his cloak shone and dazzled everyone for miles around. But the thread wasn't the prince's favorite color so he ordered the tailor be put to death.
There's no pleasing everyone.
